First meeting for Team 2

April 25, 2026 — Team 2

Today we kicked off the season and started thinking about improvements for the new season. In attendance we had Elwood, Noah, Will, and Zach, all veterans from last year. Today’s focus was on Robot Design. To start with, the team broke down the old robot and started from scratch. The merits of having a forklift built in (or at least optimized for) was discussed. Ultimately, the team wanted to test out different tires and their resistence to dust. To test the tires, the team took the robot to the table, using last season’s field, and drove a test program to test for consistency. Then they used flour to simulate dust and tested the tires again. The new tires they tested were pretty good even with the dust, but they were also very easy to clean off using a microfiber cloth, returning the robot ot its prior consistency. The team has decided to use their new 62.4x20 S (Part #32019) tires with the wheel part #86652 for this season.
